i am yours please God...take care of him and get him back home
ok i just watched "supersize me", which is this documentary where this guy eats only mcdonalds, every meal, for 30 days. so starting out, this guy is in like, PEAK physical condition. 185 lbs, 11% body fat (the normal for an average adult 35 year old male is 22%), low cholestrol, great triglycerides, etc. so he starts eating mcdonalds every day for all three meals, and he also does all these statistics, like there are 83 mcdonalds in manhattan ALONE. ya'll...manhattan is an ISLAND. and there are 83 OF THEM. good lord!! in new york there are more mcdonalds than wendy's, taco bell, burger king, and KFC COMBINED. how disgusting is that?!?!?! and 1 in every 4 americans eats at mcdonalds EVERY DAY. like all these crazy statistics about obesity and stuff in america, ahhhh it is CREEPY. i mean like you don't realize how bad it is until someone lays it out for you and then you're like, hoooooly shit...and he did this test where he held up pictures of people to 1st graders and one of them was george washington, and only 1 of the kids knew who he was, and NONE of them knew what he'd done (like, that he was the first president...not all the stuff he'd accomplished), and check this out, this was the saddest part: he held one up of Jesus, and out of 7 kids, not one single child knew who it was. what is that??? i mean really...but then he held up a picture of the wendy's girl, and 5 of the kids knew her! and then one of ronald mcdonald, and ALL 7 KNEW WHO HE WAS. absobloodylutely amazing. so anyway he eats all this and gains 17 pounds in TWELVE DAYS. holy crap!!! ya'll will have to watch it to see everything that happens to him, but seriously...it is INCREDIBLE the damage he does to his body. i literally sat through this whole movie with my jaw hanging open. bloody hell! check it out...6 weeks after the movie premiered, mcdonalds did away with their super size option, and introduced their new "go active!" thingie...IMAGINE THAT. phew. it was like a major eye opener.
some really freakin' funny golden girls quotes...ahhh the greatest show ever!
ok i have decided to make a summer "list" like kath did! so here is mine:6.20.2005
however distant you may be
there blows no wind but wafts your scent to me
there sings no bird but calls your name to me
each memory that has left its trace with me
lingers forever as a part of me

i've still gotta do shells and a crab and i think maybe an umbrella and a sandcastle, but what do ya'll think so far?? i'm excited about it! and once i finish the mural i can re-paint my furniture and stuff and collage my old vintage beach postcards onto my bookshelf. and imma drill little holes into some glass jars and hang them like in a line on my wall and make them into vases and put fake hibiscus flowers in them...ahhh i am so excited lol i planned everything out onto a piece of paper and did sketches and everything. and i have bamboo blinds for my window! yesss it is gonna be fab. but now i must go to memphis -- toodles!
6.14.2005
and i know ya'll think i'm obsessed with this kind of stuff lol but really, even if you dont care what you eat or whatever, seriously, it's a good watch...like it will keep you interested, i promise. it's just such a slap in the face, and its so insane to eat only mcdonalds for 30 days that you just wana see what happens to him in the end, yanno? but anyway, yeah...just had to post about that lol.

sophia: was that a plumber?
dorothy: no, ma. it was a little girl scout selling girl scout toilet seats.
rose [singing]: 'miami is nice, so i'll say it thrice'.
dorothy: thrice, rose, who the hell says thrice?!
rose: it's a word...
dorothy: so is intra-uterine, but you don't put that in a song.
rose: 'miami you are cuter than, an intra-uterine'!
[the girls at a mystery weekend. dorothy is about to unravel the case]
dorothy: i think i see now how it happened. last evening, at dinner, when miss mclynn saw blanche give kendall nesbit her key, she was furious. she dropped a steak knife into her purse...
sophia: big deal, i took a whole plate –
dorothy: not NOW, MA!
rose: you... you... you rude person!
dorothy: go easy on him, rose.
rose [ready to tell one of her stories]: i remember the time when–
dorothy: excuse me rose, do i have the time to go run out and get hit by a bus?
rose: back in st. olaf we would settle a dispute like this with some good old-fashioned log rolling.
dorothy: sorry, rose. my log is in the shop.
stan: hello, mama bear. papa bear's back in the cave.
dorothy: i could vomit just looking at you.

English 10
Will Kesler
B+ (ok i had an 89!!! COME ON KESLER, YOU COULD HAVE BUMPED ME UP!! ah well)
Kati had a strong year in English, and though I think the AP will be challenging for her, I really believe that her love of literature and writing and her innate enthusiasm towards learning will bridge that gap. I look forward to seeing her progress next year. Have a great summer!

After thirty-two years of teaching art to many fine, talented students at GPS, I can honestly say that your daughters in my Art 11 class have made this year a very special one for me. This was the largest Art 11 class I have ever taught and back in August as I looked at those eighteen eager faces, I crossed my fingers. I shouldn’t have worried! Your daughters have been self-motivated; independent; and very creative. They have produced volumes of beautiful art work that I couldn’t wait to display. I thank you for the encouragement you have given your daughters and I thank them for sharing their talents with me.

Kati did fairly well on her exam.(fairly well?! i made a 93!!!!!!) She has developed good math and study skills. I encourage Kati to do her best always on her homework, too. She asked many fine questions and was eager to answer many of mine. She helped her classmates and sought help from me. These are all good practices and I encourage her to set even higher standards for next year and beyond. This has been quite a learning year for Kati, Geometry is formidable, especially with large doses of Algebra. It has been a pleasure....
Chemistry
Sonya Steele
B+
Kati has really shown a very mature and advanced approach to her learning this quarter and I admire both her effort and her understanding. She thrives on making sure she understands a topic thoroughly. I know she will go on to do great things because I see in Kati a great desire to succeed and an equally great talent. I encourage Kati to find wonder in her learning. I will miss teaching Kati and I consider it a blessing to have been her teacher again. Have a great summer!
Spanish III
Brad Akers
B (hahaha well THAT was curved by about 20 points lol there's no way)
Kati consistently maintained a positive attitude and always tried her best to overcome difficulties she would encounter in her study of Spanish. (psssh rave on, spanish king) Kati should consider travelling to a country where the language is spoken as I am confident she would find learning the language in that setting a very satisfying experience, one in which she might very well excel! Have a wonderful summer, Kati!
